Want to help keep Arlington beautiful? Volunteer registration is underway for the annual Lake Arlington spring cleanup.

The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Richard Simpson Park, 6300 W. Arkansas Lane.

The goal is to improve the appearance of Lake Arlington and increase public awareness about how litter can affect water quality. Individuals, civic clubs, organizations, and student groups are encouraged to register and participate.

Free lunch will be provided to all volunteers. All volunteer participants are reminded to wear long pants and sleeves, sturdy shoes or boots, and hats. No shorts or sandals will be allowed. Gloves, insect repellent, and trash bags will be provided by the City of Arlington.

Note: All youth volunteers must be at least 7 years old to participate and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To register a group or an individual, please contact Samantha Crossnoe by phone at 817-459-5477 or by email at [email protected].
