City at the Market Event - An Engaging and Wholesome Experience
Sunshiny faces prevailed at the Downtown Arlington Farmer' Market, despite the overcast, rainy day on September 29. City officials representing a smorgasbord of city services were present to provide information and engage with visiting Farmer' Market shoppers.
Council member Lana Wolff extends a warm welcome for everyone to come out and experience the Downtown Arlington Farmer' Market. City at the Market provided an opportunity for citizens to find answers to questions about city services, as they purchased good, wholesome produce in support of our local farmers'. City officials are planning to make City at the Market an annual event.
Also welcoming those in attendance was Council member Charlie Parker, showing support for local farmers and entrepreneurs.
The Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption unit was on-site, and a happy day for one very popular puppy, an adult dog, and a cat that all found forever homes. The shelter' dedicated Golden PAWS senior volunteers attended with their eye catching handmade crafts.
Among the different city staff represented, one table featured an employee from Arlington' Municipal Court that provided information on traffic safety, and fun coloring books for youth. Water Utilities promoted water conservation, and Environmental Services encouraged environmental awareness for a clean, healthy environment.
The fall harvest of fruits and vegetables available promote healthy choices, and the ambiance in the autumn air and festivities brought feelings of the comforts of home.
Visit the Downtown Arlington Farmer' Market to find treasures such as delectable homemade jellies, jams, and honey. Artisans display their arts and jewelries, and a feeling of camaraderie is ever abundant. The only thing missing was the aroma of roasting chestnuts.
Many thanks to the Downtown Arlington Farmer' Market for providing a unique downtown experience, and to all city staff and volunteers that participated in this event.
The market is open on Fridays' and Saturdays' from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 215 E. Front Street, Arlington, Texas, 76011. Former Council member Joe Bruner, referred to as "Farmer Joe' at the market, is sure to be there to greet you with a smile.
