Fiber Arts Festival

Beat the Black Friday rush by shopping for people on your holiday list on the Saturday before the Thanksgiving Holiday! Vendors, instructors, demonstrators and fiber artists of all kinds are gearing up to take over the Arlington Farmers Market, 201 E. Front Street, for annual Fiber Arts Festival. Enjoy a day full of fiber, animals and family fun. There will be demonstrations - spinning, weaving, knitting, tatting and sewing - for all ages demonstrations every half hour. The festival runs 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

See "The Jungle Book: Treasure of Cold Lair' at Studio Movie Grill

If the little ones like "The Jungle Book," head over to the Studio Movie Grill in the Arlington Highlands on Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m. for a screening of "The Jungle Book: Treasure of Cold Lair." Tickets are only $2.

JFK Exhibit at UT Arlington Central Library

Nearly half a century ago, President John F. Kennedy stretched forth his hand to connect with thousands of people waiting to see and hear from him in a cold, rainy but ebullient Fort Worth. That awe-inspiring moment, captured in a black and white photos, is part of a new exhibit at The University of Texas at Arlington Libraries Special Collections honoring the memory of President Kennedy 50 years after his assassination in Dallas. Experience the free exhibit, "Howdy, Mr. President! A Fort Worth Perspective of JFK," at the UT Arlington Central Library, 702 Planetarium. Admission is free.

Wanted: Electronic Waste, Dead or Alive!

Celebrate Texas Recycles Day by getting rid of any unwanted electronic devices - computers, televisions or even cell phones - during Saturday's Computer Roundup, from 8:00 a.m. to noon in the parking lot at the southeast corner of Mitchell and Cooper on the UT Arlington campus. Arlington residents can bring old monitors, keyboards, printers, radios, VCRs, video cameras. Proof of Arlington residency is required.
