Arlington voters will be going to the polls on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Sample ballots and polling locations are available at www.Arlingtontx.gov/election.
According to the City Secretary's Office, Arlington has 182,214 registered voters and 5,984 cast ballots during the Early Voting period that ended May 7, 2013.
How to get election results on Saturday
Unofficial early voting results will be available on the City of Arlington website and on the Tarrant County Elections web site at www.tarrantcounty.com/evote. Click on Election Results. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. the City of Arlington will broadcast unofficial early voting results from the Council Chamber with the Arlington City Council. Watch the live broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 16, AT&T U-Verse Channel 99, or online at www.Arlingtontx.gov/broadcast.
What's on the ballot
In Arlington, voters are electing City Council representatives for Mayor and Single-Member Districts 3, 4 and 5 and At-Large District 8.
Arlington voters are also electing representatives for the Arlington Independent School District Board of Trustee school board. Voters are reminded to present their Voter Registration Card or current driver's license on Election Day. Other forms of ID can include a birth certificate, U.S. passport or utility bill.
Other important dates
The Arlington City Council will canvass and certify election results on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The oaths of office will be administered on May 28, 2013. If a runoff is necessary, the election would occur on Saturday, June 15, 2013. A runoff election occurs when a City Council candidate does not secure 50 percent or more of the total votes cast.
