The Arlington Police Department is investigating the death of a woman in her 20s, who was discovered deceased this evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Police Officers were dispatched at approximately 8:40 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2012, to multiple calls reporting shots fired in the area of the apartment complex located in the 2200 block of Henderson Drive. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the woman was deceased with an apparent gunshot wound. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release her name and cause of death once they make an official identification and next of kin notification has occurred.
At this point, investigators are looking into all possibilities, including whether the victim knew the suspect. Homicide detectives will continue to canvass the area and gather information about the time frame leading up to the victim's death. This is the third homicide in Arlington this year.
