It's going to a busy weekend in and around Arlington, with several cool events going on for people of all ages. Here's a short list of top picks for the weekend - but it's not comprehensive. If you have other happenings to suggest to fellow readers, please add them in the comments thread.

Comedy & Magic for all Ages

Spend Sunday afternoon enjoying comedy and magic for the entire family at the Improv Comedy Club located in Arlington Highlands, 309 Mathes Way. This interactive show is designed to have you and your whole family laughing and in awe! Show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are only $10.

Annual Arts & Craft Fair

Are you looking for a few good gifts this holiday season? Head over to Arlington Classics Academy, 5200 S. Bowen Rd., for the school's inaugural arts & craft fair. More than 40 vendors will showcase their wares, enabling you to get all your holiday shopping done in one place. The fair runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.

DFW Photo Expo 2013 Heads to Arlington

Take your photography to the next level by attending the DFW Photo Expo being held at the Arlington Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Arlington Camera is presenting a world-class event featuring classes and workshops, seminars featuring photography experts and an expo/trade show where you can buy and sell your gear. While admission is free, several seminars are $29. No need to worry, you will get $20 back to spend at the expo/trade show.

UTA Homecoming: Get in the Game, Parade and Pep Rally

Homecoming at UT Arlington is much more than a sporting event. It's an exhilarating, heart-pounding, event-filled week of Maverick pride, and you're invited to join the fun. You won't want to miss the big Homecoming ORANGE-OUT game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. when the Maverick men take on Cleveland State. Click here to purchase tickets.

The festivities begin at 4:00pm just outside the College Park Center. Join us at the game prep areas where you can get your game face on, make spirit posters, and dance to a deejay. The Homecoming Parade starts at 5:45 p.m. with a lineup featuring colorful floats, marching bands, special guests, and our traditional display of decorated and lighted golf carts. The parade will culminate with a Pep Rally where you can cheer the Mavericks on to victory!

After the game, you can step outside the College Park Center to watch the night sky light up with a fabulous firework display. Visit UTA's Homecoming website to learn more about the great things going on.

Spend A Night With Nature

This Friday, the River Legacy Foundation will host its second annual A Night Event With Nature fundraiser at River Legacy's Living Science Center. Enjoy an upscale evening of fun, nature and woodland chic! All proceeds will benefit River Legacy Living Science Center's environmental education programs and exhibit renovation. This event benefits the center's programs. Tickets are $100.

Remembering JFK: 50 Trees for 50 Years

On Saturday, the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Texas Trees Foundationand Keep Arlington Beautiful, will plant 50 trees at Webb Community Park to honor the life, leadership and legacy of JFK. If you would like to volunteer to help plant trees for JFK, please contact [email protected] to be added to the list and to receive further details. The volunteer plantings will kick-off at 9 a.m. on November 16, 2013, with an official dedication ceremony at 10:30 a.m. immediately following the plantings.
