Arlington Library Presents Campfire Legends: Nov. 25, 2015
Families excitedly enter, noticing flames from the center of the room glowing and casting shadows about the walls of what on a normal day would be a standard community room. The space is now a cozy campground complete with a roaring fire, lanterns, and a ukulele. The campfire leaders welcome each camper into the circle and begin an evening of told stories, campfire games, and folksongs.
Families visiting the Lake Arlington branch public library on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 6-7 p.m. have a chance to be part of a unique storytelling experience. During the Campfire Legends program, the library's community room is transformed into a cheery campfire to set the scene for a fun family program.
Storytelling is one of the very oldest ways humans have communicated with one another. Campers join this age-old tradition by listening to stories of trickster schemes and foolish wishes, spinning a wild tale together as a group, and sharing their voices around the fire.
Campfire Legends ignites the imagination and engages the whole family. 2nd-4th grade students with accompanying adults welcome!
