On Saturday November 14, 2015, the Fish Creek Neighborhood Association Members gathered at the Fish Creek Walking trail on Normandy Drive. Over the course of three hours, residents gathered trash, litter and debris that washed into the creek during recent rain events.
By helping to protect our local waterways and natural spaces from stormwater pollution, organizations like the Fish Creek Neighborhood Association are creating great neighborhoods and communities for our citizens to live, work and play.
Stormwater pollution is common in our local waterways. Trash, litter and debris left on streets and parking lots, or illegally dumped into storm drains or streams not only creates unattractive areas in our city but it is also harmful to the local ecosystem, water quality and streambank stability.
