This week presents two great opportunities to eat your way across Asia - bite by bite, and without leaving Arlington. On Friday, November 2, Tarrant County Commissioner Andy Nguyen is hosting the second annual Taste of Asia, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Sub-Courthouse, 700 E. Abram Street. Taste some great Asian cuisine or baked goods from Bayou Cat, Paris Bakery, Thai Basil Leaf, Bamboo, Star India and other local restaurants. Lunch plates are $7 and proceeds will benefit the United Way of Tarrant County.
Another great event celebrating the great food of Asia is the 6th Annual Great Taste of Asia Festival on Saturday, November 3 at the Filipino American Alliance Church, 1618 W. Arkansas Lane. City Councilmember Michael Glaspie plans to taste some of the exquisite Asian appetizers and desserts being offered at the festival, which runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The evening includes live music by The Alliance and raffle drawings. Tickets are $20 and will benefit the church's building and community outreach programs. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.filamchurch.com.
