Enter the Arlington Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit of Service Scholarship Competition
This competition is for college students enrolled in Tarrant County College Southeast and UT Arlington.
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the winning essay writer!
This year's theme is: “Advancing the Dream: Diversity in Action”
Requirements include:
- Demonstrated ongoing community service
- Freshman/Sophomore, Junior, or Senior who has completed 24 hours or more
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Full-time status attending 12 semester hours or more
- Demonstrated financial need (via FAFSA score for 2019, please include your reply page)
- Well written essay. The theme is “Advancing the Dream: Diversity in Action” (Must not exceed 1,500 words.)
Application materials must also include two letters of recommendation and a statement of community service achievements. Letters of recommendation may come from faculty, employers and/or community leaders.
Entry deadline is: 4 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 in-person or scanned/emailed.
Winners will be formally recognized at the MLK Advancing the Dream Awards Banquet on Friday, January 17, 2020.
