TxDOT: Westbound I-20 Ramp to Southbound US 287 Closed Dec. 15, 2024

Want to stay in the know about the Texas Department of Transportation's Southeast Connector Project and how construction activity may affect your commute? Each Friday, the City of Arlington will share the latest information about the $2.1 billion project, which will rebuild and widen approximately 16 miles of I-20 from Forest Hill Drive to Little Road, I-820 from I-20 to Brentwood Stair Road, and US 287 from Bishop Street to Sublett Road. This project is expected to be complete by 2027. 

 Residents can also add their contact information on the Southeast Connector Project website to receive updates directly via text or email. 

When complete, the Southeast Connector Project will tie in the east and southeast part of Tarrant County to the central part of the county while relieving congestion, increasing safety and improving efficiency for the entire Metroplex.

Please note: Speed limits are now reduced to 55 mph within the entire corridor.  

Main Lanes   

US 287 Southbound

• Interchange Ramp Closure: Westbound I-20 ramp to southbound US 287 closed during daytime Dec. 15.
• Ramp Closure: Southbound US 287 entrance ramp from Little Road closed during daytime Dec. 15.
• Southbound US 287 reduced to one lane between Little Road and Sublett Road during daytime Dec. 15. 

I-820 Southbound 

• Ramp Closure: Southbound I-820 entrance ramp from Lancaster Ave. and Rosedale St. closed overnight Dec. 15.
• Right lane closed on southbound I-820 at between Lancaster Ave. and Ramey Avenue overnight Dec. 15.
• Left lane closed on SB I-820 at Wilbarger Street during daytime Dec. 15.
• Ramp Closure: Southbound I-820 ramp to Westbound I-20 closed overnight Dec. 15.
• Ramp Closure: Southbound I-820 entrance ramp from Sun Valley Drive closed overnight Dec. 15.

Interstate 20 Westbound

• Right lane closed on Westbound I-20 at I-820 interchange closed overnight Dec. 15.
• Ramp Closure: Westbound I-20 exit ramp to Anglin Drive closed overnight Dec. 15.
• Ramp Closure: Westbound I-20 entrance ramp from Business 287 closed overnight Dec. 15.
