On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at approximately 4:03 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to wreck in the 1200 block of Avenue H East Street.

Investigators believe the driver of a 2009 Ford Focus was traveling in the westbound lanes when the vehicle drove over a curb attached to the median and hit a city sign.

The vehicle then struck a tree causing the vehicle to come to a stop.

The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old male, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators believe speed to be a factor in the crash.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
