Move with the Mayor

Whether you prefer a friendly game of hoops or finding inner peace through yoga, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross challenges you get to up and moving about The American Dream City this May.

Mayor Ross is partnering with Arlington Parks & Recreation to host four fun-filled, family friendly activities throughout the month as part of the national Move with the Mayor initiative to help build healthier communities. The Move with the Mayor initiative, a collaboration with the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, encourages residents to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

“Arlington Parks and Recreation offers so many ways for our residents to work out, from weight rooms and fitness classes, recreational leagues, sports fields, miles of hike and bike trails and even indoor swimming. I encourage residents of all ages and all fitness levels to join me in this mission to create healthier habits for ourselves and a healthier community for us all,” Ross said.

Residents are encouraged to lace up the sneakers, grab their water bottles, and join Mayor Ross at these upcoming events:
