The Arlington Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a man who was found deceased inside a South Arlington home.

On Monday, October 21, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., patrol officers were flagged down by a man who told them he had gone to a home in the 300 block of Kingfisher Lane to check on a family friend who lived there – and when he entered the home, he discovered a body inside.

Officers responded to the home and located the remains of a deceased male in the living room. He had multiple apparent gunshot wounds. Based on the condition of the body, investigators were unable to fully identify him and believe he had been deceased for multiple days.

Relatives of the home’s registered tenant told detectives they had not heard from him since early Saturday afternoon, prompting them to contact the family friend who reported finding the body.

There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Based on evidence recovered from the scene, detectives believe high-risk drug activity may be involved.

At this time, there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call Detective VanTreeck at (817) 459-5691. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once he is positively identified and next of kin have been notified.
