Arlington Charities, the city’s oldest social services organization, and largest supplemental food source, will host its annual Help & Hope gala at Texas Live! on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025.
Help & Hope will feature some of Arlington’s finest chefs offering delicious, original food tastings, and it will be hosted by guest emcee Anita Foster, Chief Communications Officer at Arlington ISD. There will also be a silent auction, raffles, and a live auction to close out the evening.
The annual fundraiser supports Arlington Charities’ mission of fighting hunger and poverty by providing supplemental groceries through its weekday drive-through pick-up service, four monthly Mobile Markets, its Market Truck, grocery delivery to the homebound, and sack lunches for unhoused neighbors.
“In 2023, we distributed 2,532,985 pounds of food to the people in our community facing food crises. We do not expect the cost of food – or food insecurity in our community ¬– to decrease. The dollars raised by Help & Hope make our work possible.” — Deborah Coppola, Executive Director
Arlington Charities also offers case management, crisis assistance, and free classes to clients.
“Our main mission is to address food insecurity in the Arlington area, but we know that food insecurity is just a symptom of other issues in the lives of our clients. So, we can provide resources that go beyond food, offering classes and programs that help our clients not just survive but thrive.” — Casey McCollum, Program Director
Local chefs who will be featured at Help & Hope include: Aziz Kobty (Prince Lebanese Grill), Maurice Ahern (Grounds & Gold), Darrin Green (Hearsay), Leo Medina and Katie Kennedy (Marcona Kitchen), Robert Carr (Cut & Bourbon), Greg Almendarez (AISD Culinary), Katrina Warner & Alison Hodges (TCCSE Culinary Arts Program), Moose Benhamacht (Cafe Americana), Preston Nguyen (World Food Champion, “Next Level Chef”), and Patrick and Fasicka Hicks (Smoke N Ash).
All funds raised by Help & Hope will help make the programs and services of Arlington Charities possible.
