Sprinkler Gauge

As much as 60 percent of household water used during the summer is used outdoors on our lawns. Over-watering accounts for much of that use.

That’s why Arlington Water Utilities is encouraging residents with automatic sprinkler systems to pick up a free sprinkler test kit from water department customer care locations in February. Sprinkler gauges will help you measure how long it takes to apply a certain amount of water to your irrigation zones. That information can be used in combination with weekly water advice available at WaterIsAwesome.com to avoid overwatering this summer.

The kits come with four gauges and instructions for their use. A form is also available online to help with calculations. Visit SaveArlingtonWater.com to learn more. One kit per household will be available while supplies last at the Arlington Water Utilities Customer Care locations at Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram St., and the Arlington Water Utilities South Service Center, 1100 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
