APD Patrol Tahoe

The Arlington Police Department offers internships for college students interested in a career in law enforcement. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow, ride out, and learn directly from a variety of units within the department.

Eligibility

  • Students must be either a Junior or Senior at an accredited university
  • Interns must receive credit hours from school for the internship
  • 120 hours must be completed for 3 credit hours
  • 240 hours must be completed for 6 credit hours
  • Hours are estimates and vary according to the university
  • Student currently not on academic or scholastic probation
  • No felony convictions
  • Must be approved by the appropriate college intern coordinator

Application Procedure

  1. Send an email expressing interest in the program
  2. Submit a letter of recommendation from the University Internship Coordinator
  3. Provide college transcript
  4. Student will then be contacted and provided further instructions

Application Deadlines

  • Fall Semester - July 1
  • Summer Semester - April 1
  • Spring Semester - November 1
