Final Informational Sessions Scheduled Sept. 13 and Oct. 7 for Residents Planning to Apply for 2024 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program

Mark your calendars now. Only two opportunities to attend a required informational session remain for neighborhoods who are considering applying for a 2024 Neighborhood Matching Grant. Those dates are Sept. 13 and Oct. 7.

The City of Arlington is pleased to announce another Neighborhood Matching Grant call for projects. Through this year’s program, $150,000 is available to fund improvement projects that will beautify and enhance the public spaces and strengthen neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City.

Any neighborhood group with an IRS EIN and bank account can apply for a grant up to $10,000 and any neighborhood registered as an HOA or nonprofit with the State of Texas can apply for a grant up to $25,000 for an eligible project. Examples of eligible projects include landscaping, neighborhood signage, sign toppers, public art, park improvements and streetscape enhancements.

Applications for this grant program open Tuesday, Aug. 1 and are due by Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. For a project to be considered, it must be submitted by neighbors, serve a public purpose, have a detailed timeline and meet all City codes. Each neighborhood must also contribute 20% grant match towards the project, although in some cases a cash match is not required.

Information Sessions

To apply, a project team leader must attend one of five Information Sessions scheduled throughout the city.

These sessions are scheduled:

• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 in the [Re]Brary Room A of the George W. Hawkes Central Library, 100 S. Center St. The meeting will also be held on Zoom. Click here for the link.
•  6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, East Library & Recreation Center Community Room, 1817 New York Ave.
•  6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, Arlington Police Department West District Service Center, 2060 W. Green Oaks Blvd.
•  6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, Southwest Branch Library Community Room, 3311 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
•  10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, Southeast Branch Library Community Room, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd.
