Kids Boo Fest

 Kids Boo Fest at Six Flags Over Texas is where you will find tons of fun for your little monsters with treat-or-treating and family-friendly Halloween activities. Explore spooky fun for all ages and get your tickets from now until Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023.

Oktoberfest Food Festival

Head over to Six Flags Over Texas through Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 to enjoy craft & seasonal brews complimented with a menu of German inspired cuisine at the park’s Oktoberfest Food Festival. Celebrate Oktoberfest with Six Flags by adding a Taste of Oktoberfest Sampler to your order. Six Flags Over Texas is offering over 30 beers and wines during our Oktoberfest event, including a popular list of “Oktoberfest” favorites.

Joseph Farbrook: A Mirror in the Void – Reflections of Consciousness 

The Gallery at UTA is pleased to present Joseph Farbrook: A Mirror in the Void – Reflections of Consciousness, an investigation into sentience expressed through digitally designed and fabricated forms integrated with experimental screen and projection technologies. The exhibition includes video sculptures, virtual reality, interactive pieces with live streamed text, videos, and animations projected on mirrors and viewers’ faces, a 3d printed video sculpture with autostereoscopic screen, and an immersive 4-channel video projection room. Farbrook is an American artist who received his MFA in Media Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and currently is an Associate Professor teaching New Media at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He invents customized media platforms that mix physical and virtual art making practices, and within his work he explores the evolution and consequences of cultural mythology and mediated perception. Farbrook exhibits his work regularly in galleries, museums, and installations worldwide, including Meow Wolf, SIGGRAPH, International Symposium for Electronic Arts, CURRENTS, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Watermans Gallery (London), Cyberarts Gallery, and numerous solo and group exhibitions in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, as well as other national and international sites. The exhibit ends Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023

Little Explorers – Downtown Library 

Stop by The Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library as we playfully discover the world around us!  Designed for ages 1-4. Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Lunch 'N Learn with Chase Bank (50+ yrs) 

Meet Roger Belmontes, who will conduct a financial education workshop for the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department in the East Library and Recreation Center’s Senior Hall 12-1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023. To receive a free lunch, be sure to register before Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023. Must be 50+ years of age and have an annual Senior Activity Pass to participate. This pass is $25.00 for residents of Arlington or $35.00 for non-residents to enjoy a year's worth of senior activities. Click here to register. 

Beacon Family Game Night

This family friendly event 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at The Beacon Recreation Center will be a fun way of connecting. The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department will have new and old games to play! Pizza will be included in your registration price. Click here to register!

Miller Lite Hot Country Nights: Tanner Adell

Texas Live! hosts Miller Lite Hot Country Nights powered by TXU Energy. It’s Tanner Adell taking the stage at the CBD Kratom Backyard with doors opening 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023. The Show is free to attend but you can upgrade your concert experience. Learn more by clicking here

Levitt Pavilion Fall Concert Series 

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s Fall Concert Series continues 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, with Good Looks opening for The Bright Light Social Hour, then 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, Remy Reilly is the opening artist for Even It Up: The Ultimate Heart Tribute Band. These Free Concert Series are free. Open seating is available on the lawn. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs. Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy this weekend. You can experience Spyro Gyra 8:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, then Jim Messina and Pablo Cruise 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, and rounding out the weekend is the Point Grace 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023. Wings WNBA Semifinal Game

Mobile Pet Adoption Event

Join Arlington Animal Services inside PetSmart at Lincoln Square for a tail-wagging, family-friendly, pet-saving community event 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2023. Adorable adoptable pets looking for new homes will be available inside PetSmart and ready for immediate adoption. Scheduled events are subject to cancellation without notice due to unfavorable weather conditions (heat, cold, storms, etc.) for the safety and protection of adoptable pets, volunteers, and staff.

Day Trip – Texas State Fair

Enjoy popular fall events around the metroplex and gain some new friends at Arlington Parks and Recreation Department’s themed weekend day trips. This month head to enjoy the Texas State Fair. Drop-off time is 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center and pick-up is at 5 p.m. Click here to register.

Adult Nature and Forest Bathing

The event takes place 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at River Legacy Nature Center. After a short introduction, a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide will lead you through a series of invitations that will allow you to reconnect with Nature, yourself, and the community. After each invitation, a moment with be taken to share and reflect. The slow-paced walk culminates with a tea ceremony and snack. Click here to register.

Makerspace Open House

Visit the Makerspace Open House and discover your new hobby! It takes place 1-3 pm. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. Watch demonstrations as they introduce you to our Glowforge Laser Printer, Carvey Milling Machine, 3D Printers, Cricut, as well as many others with something special for you to take home. The Arlington Public Library will present our upcoming classes and how you can use the Makerspace during our open hours. This class is appropriate for ages 9+.

Teens Give Back 

Teens join the Arlington Public Library at Lake Arlington Branch for a chance to give back to the community 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. Come to make seasonal cards and gifts for seniors who partake in Books on Wheels, the library's outreach service for residents who live in select senior housing facilities. Supplies will be provided.

Creature Features – Honey, the domestic rabbit

Join River Legacy Nature Center for this month’s Creature Features 2-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. Get to know Honey, our domestic rabbit, and learn about its adaptations, behavior, lifestyle, natural history, etc. RSVP is required. Limited spaces available. Sunday Brunch

Ventana Grille at the Tierra Verde Golf Club clubhouse is now serving brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Sunday. Menu items include four savory Eggs Benedict entrées, Shrimp-N-Grits, Ginger Salmon, and our favorite - Napoleon's Last Meal, a buttermilk fried chicken breast over bourbon french toast and served with maple syrup!
