This October, Arlington Water Utilities and Tarrant Regional Water District will help residents save water and money on their bills by switching their old showerheads for a water-efficient model.

From Oct. 2-31, all Arlington residential customers can bring old showerheads to the department's customer service locations at 101 W. Abram St. or 1100 SW Green Oaks Blvd. and exchange them for a new water-efficient model. Each resident can exchange a maximum of two showerheads per household for a WaterSense model. The promotion is available to Arlington residents only, while supplies last.

By replacing just one showerhead with a WaterSense labeled model, the EPA estimates the average family can save 2,700 gallons of water, the amount of electricity needed to power its home for 11 days, and more than $70 in energy and water costs every year. Want to go even further, learn about replacing other fixtures at WaterSense's Your Better Bathroom webpage.
