Effective December 17, 2021, the City of Arlington will no longer be accepting new applications for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, funded by the U.S. Treasury. Applications received through December 16, 2021, will remain in the queue and will continue to be processed until funds are fully depleted.
To date, nearly 1,000 households who were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic have been assisted with rent and utility assistance through this program. If they remain eligible, households may receive a maximum of 18 months of assistance. Between existing tenants who remain eligible for continued assistance, and the number of applications already received, the Housing Department believes that all funds will be committed. If additional funds are received in the future, the application portal will be reopened.
