Mayor Unveils Arlington Dream Team Digital Ambassador Program at State of the City
Become a member of our Dream Team and show your hometown pride! The City of Arlington is proud to launch its Dream Team Digital Ambassador Program to help spread the message about events and news happening in our great community.
"With people getting their news from so many different sources these days, it's harder and harder to reach our residents and tell them about what's happening in Arlington," said Jay Warren, the City's marketing communications manager. "In an effort to increase engagement with our residents and awareness of events and news happening in Arlington, we wanted to create a digital ambassador program. We are truly building our dream team."
Mayor Jeff Williams unveiled the social media outreach program Wednesday, October 18, 2017 during the 11th annual State of the City address, hosted by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
Through the program, residents, business owners and other community stakeholders are encouraged to share the City's articles and videos on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other personal social media accounts. All people need to do is visit www.arlingtontx.gov/dreamteam and enter their email address. The City will then provide content in an e-mail on a weekly basis for residents to share.
"If people join our team and they start sharing our content, we can continue to amplify our message and instead of reaching tens of thousands of people, we can start to reach hundreds of thousands," Warren said. "The more people who share it, the more people will learn about the great things happening in our community."
Ambassadors who share the City's posts online not only help inform their friends and family about what's happening across The American Dream City, they also earn points for the chance to win prizes.
