A fun-filled sports day of college football and professional baseball is expected to draw as many as 100,000 combined fans to the Arlington Entertainment District this weekend. Texas Christian University and Louisiana State University football teams will play their season opener at AT&T Stadium Saturday with kickoff just an hour after the first pitch is thrown at Rangers Ballpark.

Cooperation between the Arlington Police Department, Public Works and Transportation, and AT&T Stadium officials has led to a very successful traffic management plan for crowds in excess of 100,000 fans and near-simultaneous events in the Arlington Entertainment District. Traffic Tips:

Plan your driving routes to and from the events

Arrive early

  • Parking lots at AT&T Stadium will open at 2 p.m. with kickoff at 8 p.m.
  • Rangers parking lots will open at 4 p.m. with the game starting at 7:05 p.m.
  • Additional secure parking is also available at pre-approved businesses throughout the Entertainment District. These locations can be easily identified by the green circle with a "P" inside it.

Follow the directions of traffic officers

  • Public Safety officials are working with the City of Arlington's Public Works employees to get you safely to and from the two venues. Their directions will get you where you need to go safely.
  • Consider routes that might appear counter-productive. You may be directed away from the area for the quickest route to get to the specific parking lot you need.
  • More than anything else - be patient. We encourage people to be considerate of other drivers on the road and the pedestrians walking to and from the venues.
