PGA Professional brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Arlington Golf
Arlington Golf announced that Chad Williams has been named the PGA Head Golf Professional at Tierra Verde Golf Club. Williams brings more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry to Tierra Verde, including roles in tournament administration, pro shop operations, golf instruction and course management.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Chad's credentials at the Tierra Verde Golf Club,' said Greg Durante, Arlington's golf services manager. "His vast experience in the golf industry will serve as a tremendous benefit to our day-to-day operations at Tierra Verde, ultimately resulting in a better golfing experience for all of our customers and program participants.'
Most recently, Williams was an assistant golf and teaching professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, Texas. Prior to that, Williams spent six years as the head golf professional at Corsicana Country Club. At Corsicana C.C., Williams owned the full-service pro shop which specialized in apparel, hard goods, club repair, custom fitting, lessons and tournament administration.
The 2000 Northern Texas PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year earned his first head pro position at the prestigious Dunwoody Country Club in Atlanta, Ga. Williams responsibilities included tournament administration for 200+ annual events, liaison to the Ladies Golf Association, implementation of new staff scheduling and job responsibilities and development of a new interactive member website during his three-year stint with the club. He was also first assistant professional at Fort Worth's oldest country club, River Crest Country Club, from 1996-2000.
Williams qualified for the 2008 PGA National Professional Championship at Reynolds Plantation, Ga., after winning the Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship in 2007.

A 2001 graduate of the PGA of America's Golf Professional Training Program, Williams earned a bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance from the University of North Texas in 1993, where he was also a member of the UNT golf team.
