Enhance Regional Mobility

The City of Arlington recently received federal funding for two projects designed to improve roadway safety for all road users through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program under the United States Department of Transportation.

The first grant for $240,000 will allow the city to complete a safety action plan, which will follow the National Roadway Safety Strategy and focus on elements such as safer people, safer roads, safer vehicles, safer speeds and post-crash care. The second grant for $385,000 will allow the City to update its ADA Transition Plan. This plan is a required document for municipalities under the Americans with Disabilities Act to review its programs, services, and activities for compliance. The grand funding will also support the creation of Arlington’s Sidewalk Master Plan.

You can read more about these grant-funded projects in the latest edition of the Enhance Regional Mobility newsletter. You can also learn more about the completion of the Herschel Street Rebuild in East Arlington, TxDOT construction updates in Arlington, and why Handitran bus driver Robbie Dawson loves her job helping riders get around The American Dream City.

All quarterly City Council priority newsletters are produced in a digital formal, allowing for layers of additional video content and important links.
