On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at approximately 7:39 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of West Sanford Street.

Investigators believe the driver of a 2007 Toyota Tundra was traveling in the east bound lanes along West Sanford Street when he lost control of the pickup, veered into the opposite lane of traffic, and collided with a 2013 Honda Civic traveling westbound.

The impact caused the Civic to spin and collide with a Kia Spectra that was parked in a nearby driveway.

The driver of the Civic, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He did not have any identification on him.

The driver of the Tundra, a teenage male, was not seriously injured and was treated and released by medics on scene.

During their investigation, officers conducted a series of field sobriety tests on the teenage male and determined there were no signs of intoxication. Upon further investigation the teenage male was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.

Speed and road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
