On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at approximately 6:44 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to the intersection of Matlock Road and E. Bardin Road to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan.

When officers arrived, they found the driver of the motorcycle, a 65-year-old man, lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned the man was traveling northbound on Matlock Road when he collided with a 1999 Lexus ES 300 that was making a left turn from the southbound lanes of Matlock Road to the eastbound lanes of E. Bardin Road. The impact caused the man to be thrown from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, investigators believe the motorcycle driver had a green light when the crash occurred, but may have been traveling at a high speed.

The driver of the Lexus was not injured and remained at the scene. She is not currently facing any criminal charges.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
