Construction for this project began in January 2023 and was completed in July 2023, almost two weeks ahead of the actual contractual time.

This project was part of the City’s program to rebuild residential streets throughout the city that have deteriorated beyond general maintenance and included the following improvements.

  • Rebuilding the asphalt roadway to a concrete roadway
  •  Water main improvements
  •  Upgrading streetlights
  •  Sidewalk improvements

Funding for this project was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $137 million Street Improvements package included in the 2018 Bond Election. This project aligns with the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.

Additional funding was made available from a Community Development Block Grant. The City of Arlington has received this grant for more than 49 years and uses the funds to improve neighborhood infrastructure, parks, homes, and community services.
