Levitt Pavilion Arlington

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s free fall concert series wraps up this weekend! The outdoor concert venue's upcoming shows begin at 7 p.m. with an opening act featuring local talent.

Friday, Oct. 8
Chris Colston with Opening Act Taylor Dunn

San Antonio native, Taylor Dunn is proving to be a rising artist in the Texas Country/Americana scene. Taylor’s first single, “Homesick When I’m Home” is continuing to climb the Texas charts and she’s set to release her anticipated follow-up single, “Never Done Love”, in August. Her passion for writing and creating songs transcends the person she is and her life experiences. She pairs familiar country elements with a contemporary spin drawing many audiences to her music. This Dallas-based singer/songwriter’s love for music was fostered from an early age and has grown into much more in her adult life.

East Texas native, Chris Colston has recently sent a storm sweeping through the Texas/ Red Dirt scene with the release of his 2018 EP, “Gone.” The title track surpassed a half-million streams on Spotify in just a few short months after its release and with that, Colston set the bar quite high for himself as well as other upcoming artists in the scene. Colston’s musical story began when his stepfather signed him up for drum lessons at the age of 7. He knew immediately that he wanted to be a musician and a few years later he picked up the guitar. At 17, Colston formed his first band and they hit the road playing everywhere they could. Colston’s music is heavily influenced by some of the greats he grew up listening to like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers and country legends Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. His musical sound has continued to grow with inspiration from Whiskey Myers and Blackberry Smoke. Listening to them helped Colston curate his own style of what he describes as “gritty Texas roots combined with a little blues and rock n’ roll.” His powerful vocals are undeniable and his honest, relatable lyrics resonate with his rapidly growing fan base creating a product you cannot deny.

Saturday, Oct. 9
Grupo Stampede with Opening Act Grupo Pression

Grupo Pression is a Tejano band based in Dallas, Texas.

Grupo Stampede consists of six band members: Rick Torres on lead vocals, J.C. Rios on lead guitar, Miguel Ortega on keyboards, Richard Cantu on accordion, Jeremy Ramos on the drums, and Ray Sifuentes on the bass. In 2002, Stampede was awarded “Rising Star of the Year” at the Tejano Music Awards. The band has an energy level that compares to a “stampede.” Their live performances show their versatility by combining covers, with cumbia and rancheras originals. Grupo Stampede was on the industry ballot for the 2016 Tejano Music Awards

Sunday, Oct. 10
Courtney Patton with Opening Act Alli Joyce

Alli Joyce is an upcoming singer-songwriter.

Courtney Patton is a storyteller. She’s also a mother, a wife, a producer, a singer, a songwriter, a tour van driver and a musician as well as a world traveler, touring the United States, Canada and Europe. For those lucky enough to be in the audience listening to her expansive Texas twang as she belts out her version of deep and soulful country music, she’s a storyteller. In a musical era when clichés and bravado are mistaken for bold noteworthiness, there is something far more brave in peeling back highly personal and emotional songs and delivering them with sensitivity and sentiment. Courtney does exactly that. Heartache isn’t just described, it is tangibly felt. Following her previous solo albums, Triggering a Flood and So This is Life, and her acoustic collaborative project with her husband and fellow Texas troubadour, Jason Eady, Something Together; Courtney has drawn on day-to-day autobiographical life experiences and released her third album, What It’s Like to Fly Alone. Musicians include Chip Bricker, piano player with Gene Watson’s highly acclaimed Farewell Party Band; Austin City Limits Hall of Fame member Lloyd Maines on pedal steel, Heather Stalling (wife of Texas troubadour Max Stalling) on fiddle, Jamie Lin Wilson (The Trishas), and Dan Tyminski (Alison Krauss & Union Station) on background vocals. What It’s Like to Fly Alone debuted at number four on the iTunes country chart and made a mark across four different Billboard album charts (including a Top 20 mark on their Americana Album Sales chart). Courtney has shared the stage with leading lights of the country/folk scene, including Walt Wilkins, Bruce Robison, Jamie Lin Wilson, Cody Jinks, Sunny Sweeney, Brennen Leigh and Drew Kennedy.
