Sofia Silva, a junior on Seguin High School’s wrestling and track and field teams, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2023.

Silva finished third at districts and sixth in regionals in her first year of competing on the mat. She started off her junior season ranked 13th in state, in her weight class.

“She just takes sports seriously and competes,” Seguin Head Wrestling Coach Charles Bryant said. “The sky is the limit for Sofia, she’s just such a hard worker.”

Silva, whose favorite subject is anatomy and physiology, plans on being a physical therapist after she graduates.
