Taylor Swift The Eras Collection and more at Arlington Museum
Curated by the Arlington Museum of Art from Swift’s own private collection, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection is an exploration of Swift as an evolving, boundary-pushing artist. The exhibition will feature original costumes, photographs, videos, and more representing several of her creative periods, or “eras.” Highlights of the exhibition are eight costumes worn by Swift from her record-breaking albums Midnights, folklore, Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Friday Night Skate
Friday Night Skate is back 7 p.m. every Friday at Elzie Odom Athletic Center. This event is for ages 13 and younger, and the cost is $15 per child. Pre-registration is required. You will have a blast skating with your friends, playing games, and participating in skating activities throughout the evening! Let's turn up the heat with some Cayenne! It's not just for chili. Learn different ways to spice things up in your kitchen 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at the Southeast Branch Library’s Community Room. At Spice Club, you will learn about a different spice every month. Attend to discover a spice and receive a take-and-make kit featuring a variety of unique spices, herbs, or blends. Check out new cookbooks and recipes or bring a favorite recipe of yours to share.
Each kit will include:
- Information about the featured spice, its history with a few facts;
- two simple recipe suggestions;
- Small packet of the featured spice to try.

Feral Cat Sunday
Arlington Animal Services is having a special Trap-Neuter-Return event for feral cats in Arlington 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at the Arlington Animal Services Center. The first 20 cats to arrive between 8-9 a.m. are eligible for these free clinics. Only the first 20 Arlington feral cats will be accepted, and only one feral cat per trap. Yoga at the AMA w/Arlington Yoga Center
Discover how the sound of crystal bowls streamline the therapeutic relaxation process when you join Arlington Yoga Center and the Arlington Museum of Art for an hour of deep relaxation and restoration 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023.
This class will begin with a few basic breathing exercises, then an all-levels asana practice followed by an extended crystal bowl sound bath meditation to complete your experience. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring anything with you to create a comfortable meditation nest – pillows, essential oils, eye cover, blankets, etc. Your ticket includes an hour-long class plus the cost of admission to see all of the AMA’s summer exhibits after the class is over.
Tickets are available at arlingtonyogacenter.com/events. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins, please. Doors open at 10:45 am. Free parking is available along W. Main St. as well as 101 Center parking garage adjacent to the Downtown Library. Bring your own mat and any props you like to use.
