City Attorney

The City Attorney’s Office provides legal counsel and advice to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, officers, agents, employees, and all departments, offices, agencies, boards, and commissions of the City of Arlington. This office prosecutes all actions in Arlington’s Municipal Court and represents the City in litigation and in all legal proceedings. This office is responsible for drafting and preparing ordinances, resolutions, documents, contracts, and legal instruments prior to City Council action.

The City Attorney’s Office does not provide legal advice, opinions, or representation to members of the public on private matters. This office cannot refer members of the public to any specific attorney or endorse any private legal practice.
