Arlington has ranks No. 16 on Cloudwards’ latest list of the 100 Top Tech Cities in the U.S. in 2024.

The review site identified 17 distinct tech-related factors and organized them into five overall categories — livability, career and education opportunities, internet coverage, startup ecosystem and tech communities — for its comprehensive assessment. Arlington’s high score was influenced by its rich career and education opportunities, which included IT job openings, university tech-related programs, tech-related companies and large companies with more than 10,000 employees.

Arlington, positioned at the center of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, is a global community and has been recognized as the 5th most diverse large city in the country. The City is also proud to be the home of The University of Texas at Arlington, General Motors, D.R. Horton and a host of global, domestic and family-owned businesses. Quality of life in The American Dream City second to none, with a low cost of living, affordable housing, rich educational and culture opportunities, nationally recognized recreation facilities and 4,600 acres of parkland.

The Arlington Economic Development Corporation elevates UTA as a prominent stakeholder in the region’s innovation economy through developing opportunities for technology transfer and commercialization at both the student and faculty levels.

Other Texas cities in Cloudwards’ 2024 list were Frisco, Plano, Austin, Houston, Garland and San Antonio. Click here to read more.
