Major League Baseball and the Texas Rangers celebrated the expansion of seven new patient rooms and a triage room to the medical clinic at Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex this week. This project is an unveiling of the 2023 World Series Legacy project initiative under the MLB Together platform.
Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex has been a long-time partner of the Rangers Foundation.

The clinic supports the Arlington community with emergency aid services to nearly 2,000 people daily, including providing emergency funds, food, medical and dental services, clothing, furniture, counseling and more. The World Series Legacy funds were specifically designated towards the clinic’s new pediatric rooms. One of their signature services is the medical clinic, where the group sees between 12,000-15,000 patients per year and provides more than $5 million in medical care at no cost to the patients.

"It's going to be a really unique opportunity to change the way we are doing things," said Andrea Wilson, Mission Arlington's clinic director. "Now there will be a little more space that we could add new things that would help the doctor do their job better. Now we can add different ancillary people that can help in a real way to make the patient feel special."

Representatives from MLB, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and former Texas Rangers players Dave Valle and Steve Buechele were among those in attendance at a ceremony Thursday, July 11 to celebrate the World Series Legacy Project.

The Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex was founded and continues to be led by 86-year-old Tillie Burgin.

"It's a feeling of emotions, it's deep in love that only God can give. I just am thankful," Burgin said.
