Dog of the Week – Meet Poof
This nearly six-month-old female Siberian Husky mix is tan and white in color and weighs 22 pounds. Did you just get lost for a moment in the gaze of the eyes of this selected canine? This dog is ready to gaze directly into your heart and be your valentine for life. Being a "youngster", Poof is eager to start a happy life with a pet guardian in a new "furever" home. Like most huskies, she will do best when stimulated mentally and exercised regularly (and vigorously!). If you have other small animals in your household, be aware that Poof may try to chase and grab anything that runs. A loving family ready to provide exercise opportunities and perhaps some structured training is all this pooch is waiting for. Second Dog of the Week – Meet Rumble
This three-year, one month old female Akita mix is cream and black in color and weighs 65 pounds. Here is another dog with unique eyes to take you in. She will only have eyes for you once you adopt her. Rumble has demonstrated that she can be attentive to "hoomans" and curious about her surroundings. Akitas can be strong and silent, and some do best as the only pet in the family. If you have another canine and want to consider adopting Rumble (or any other dog in the shelter), it is suggested you have a meet and greet with your dog and the proposed adoptee. Having been tested as heartworm positive, a new pet guardian should follow up with necessary heartworm treatment so that Rumble can live out her best life.
